RCW Colt Breaking and Training was started in 2001 as a lifelong dream of Richard "Wes" and Christine Westphal. We are so excited that after years of hard work we are finally getting to live out our dream!

We are located 4 miles south of Leola on HWY 45 and 1mi. east and ¼ mile south. Just look for the big silver barn and the white house with a green roof.

We have made this a family operation. Our oldest daughter Mikaela is 13 she is just getting into helping Wes start the colts and loves to ride. Nik is 10 and helps with feeding and watering. Katelynn is 5 and rides her mini everywhere. She is also getting into riding the big horses. Lacey is 3 and tries to ride too.

Our horses are exposed to everything from the time they are weaned in the fall. They are up in the yard and barn and the kids are always out making noise of some sort. At 2 we do ground work and set a saddle on them. At 3 Wes takes them to LDL Feedlot, a 10,000 head feedlot where he works and uses them to ride pens, rope, open gates, work the chutes, and go to brandings. They cover a lot of ground and big country. They are gentle and ready to work when he is done.
